GRIMER - NO JACKET REQUIRED (DOORKNOB)
Dear Everbody, this a band we saw in Toronto. It is fronted by a friend of mines three Portuguese cousins. I do not remember their names. This is their new EP. Its fantastic. They like to call it Post-Wave or Sludge-Core.

Hot Rod [2007]
one of two fake criterions i made for my girlfriend this christmas. click here to see the back packaging. the cover painting was stolen from george hamilton’s 1971 evel knievel movie, which i later mustached. interestingly enough, i got this idea and designed this around march 2010, before i saw the blog (which i now love, but wish had a “submit” feature)

Oh My God. I’ve forgotten all my previous hate for this man. He has really perfected his act. Sure, he has to thrown in the dumb one liners but all in all I really liked it. The song “Art is Dead” is just. Perfect.
korovamilk said: Agreed. His lyrics can be so intelligent sometimes.
I know! I just think in time he will put out a serious effort. I think he has the potential to be an amazing poet and artist. I think calling him a comedian is kind of disingenuous.

“Definitely. He just likes to throw around cheap jokes a lot, like you said. Though when you read the lyrics it’s completely crazy, like how could someone think of that?”
Im not really a fan of the kinda cheap songs. I just hope that he will release an album on his own. Away from Comedy Central. Yeah some of his lyrics are crazy amazing. The Shakespeare stream on consciousness is incredible.

“Yeah, I hate how he’s tied in with Comedy Central. He could do so much cool stuff away from them. Also, because he used a lot of the same jokes, his first album didn’t sound too great. All the songs were similar.”
I thought his first cd was waay to childish and straightforward. I think that he is really able to do things and bring up bits that he wanted to do in the first place. Hopefully his third record will be a perfect balance.
