#10 - Vampire Weekend’s CONTRA
I couldn’t stand this album when I first listened to it. But, I recently put it on a couple weeks ago and I really had a new found affection about it. Its a winter album and should be listened to in the winter. It just fits. Songs like Horchata, White Sky and Holiday just fit that feel. I really like this album a lot. It definitely has some slow moments. California English uses autotune for no reason at all and ruins an otherwise decent song. Other than that its a great winter record that gets better with more listens.

#9 - Beach House’s TEEN DREAM
Ambient, surf, dreampop, synthpop and just some labels that critics have used to describe this record. I think its a genre of its own. I really haven’t heard anything this eerie and innocent ever. It is an extremely well crafted effort. The album artwork really encompasses the whole feel of this album. Teen Dream has been Sub Pop’s best release this year. Check it out, yo.
