I've been downloading a ton of music recently, but the majority of it has been stuff from the 60s and 70s. I've been trying to find some newer bands to start listening to. I downloaded stuff by Wavves but I haven't had the chance to listen to it yet. I've heard "Melt with You" by Modern English, as I'm sure most people have, but I've never listened to "After the Snow". Did you get any other interesting 45's for your birthday besides the Modern English one? I've only ever listened to "Myths of the Near Future" by the Klaxons. I enjoyed it, but other than that, I'm not familiar with their work. I'm terrible when it comes to keeping up with new releases. I have listened to Ratatat before, but I have to be in a mood for them. I think that goes for all electronic type music. When I am in the mood, though, Ratatat is fantastic. Beirut is GREAT. They've got such a great sound. The Flying Club Cup is SUCH a great album. I can listen to it over and over. I would love to get my hands on a vinyl copy of it. The Roots! Yes! They are so fantastic. ugh. How I Got Over is GREAT. I LOVE the way they incorporate all sorts of different sounds. Everything from jazz to gospel. It's so good. Definitely a great choice! i apologize for the long response.

Long responses are always good responses. Mos def agree with you on the electronic mood. Most of the 45’s are either Air Supply, Phil Collins or Barbara Streisand. I think my uncle just gave me all of his and his ex-wives collection. I got a Police 45. Thats pretty cool. After I first heard How I Got Over, I immediately went to Newbury Comics for the vinyl. It was like, ten bucks. You need to get it, its sounds great. I’m eventually going to get all of Beirut’s stuff on vinyl. I have the new double EP, March of the Zapotec and Realpeople Holland. I though Zapotec was sort of sub-par compared to their earlier orchestrations. But Realpeople Holland BLEW ME AWAY. I love the simplicity of the electronic background and Zach Condon’s booming vocals just make it stand out more than the other EP.
